Division of Abdominal Imaging and Intervention of the Department of Radiology at Brigham and Women's Hospital
Brief Description:
The Division of Abdominal Imaging and Intervention of the Department of Radiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital is seeking a full-time, board-certified or board-eligible radiologist with specific ultrasound interest and expertise, in addition to CT / MR skills. The Institution is experiencing robust expansion in women’s health services. The Department has national and international recognition for diagnostic ultrasound expertise (particularly gynecologic and obstetrical) and enjoys a collegial partnership with Maternal Fetal Medicine in providing sonographic services to these patients. This position includes interpretation of exams for all trimesters of obstetrics, guidance for advanced obstetric procedures and obstetric MRI. At Brigham and Women’s, there is a particular emphasis on hands on scanning technique including the training of residents, fellows, and students. This is a high volume practice which also includes thyroid, advanced abdominal Doppler, transplant services, and ultrasound contrast exams. Academic appointment at the Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor level at Harvard Medical School would be commensurate with experience. Candidates are expected to contribute to and advance the patient care, research, and educational missions of the Division and Department. The Brigham division provides clinical services at the BWH main campus in the Longwood Medical area, at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, and at neighboring satellite locations.
The Division of Abdominal Imaging and Intervention trains 12 clinical fellows every year as part of an ACGME-accredited fellowship program in Abdominal Imaging and Intervention. The division has developed a mentorship program for all attendings, fosters sub-specialization within abdominal radiology, and provides significant opportunities to get involved in radiology research and education. The group is very collegial with close interpersonal ties at and outside of work. The department includes additional faculty with advanced expertise in ultrasound.
The BWH Department of Radiology is committed to ensuring our community feels welcome, cared for, and valued. Candidates who have experience working with a broad range of faculty, staff and patients are encouraged to identify their experience.
